About
Get ready to lace up for a cause that touches hearts and changes lives—the annual Memorial Day run, proudly hosted by The Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City. Celebrating its 36th year, this beloved event honors the sheer tenacity of those impacted by brain injuries, alongside the relentless spirit of their families. With nearly 1,000 participants gathering each year, it's clear that the run has become a cornerstone event in Kansas City, uniting the community in a powerful display of support. Every stride taken is a step towards awareness, for every 18.5 seconds a brain injury happens, altering lives in an instant. As the leading cause of death and disability among young adults and children, brain injuries have affected over 21,000 people just in our local area last year. By joining the run, you're fueling essential services provided by BIAKS-GKC, from crucial referral programs to educational and support networks for survivors and their families. Every runner's effort propels us closer to a world of improved care and understanding for those living with brain injuries.
