GLÜCK LAUF is a community road and trail running festival held in the Gebhardshagen district of Salzgitter that honours the regional Erz-Zeche history and the miners' greeting “GLÜCK AUF”. The 13th edition is centred on the Glück-Auf-Stadion with the event village and bib pickup staged at the adjacent Minigolfanlage. The programme combines competitive racing with family-friendly activities including a children’s area, face painting, podiums for young finishers and an event village. Early bib pickup is available in the week before the race.
The weekend offers a range of distances for all ages and abilities: a children's run (1.2 km), lap distances (5.4 km, 10.8 km), a walking route, a team competition and a trail half-marathon (added in 2022). The trail half-marathon features substantial climbing (approximately 400 m ascent), singletrack sections (about 60%) and steep ramps up to around 25%; the trail is capped to 200 participants. Official timing is net time with the timing chip integrated into the race bib. Team classifications count the best three times per team, with trophies and podium awards for teams and individuals. Registration for the 2026 edition is open with tiered pricing and day-of options; organisers provide route maps, Komoot/GPX links on request and advise entrants to use the contact email for queries and team name management.
