The event known as "Giro Bavarese" (GIRO BAVARESE) is a vintage road-cycling festival held in the Tegernsee alpine region centred on Ödberg / Ostin near Gmund am Tegernsee. The weekend (18–19 July 2026) celebrates historic bicycles and scenic riding rather than racing, and the event is explicitly described as a non-competitive Rundfahrt in its eighth edition. Riders are invited to enjoy signposted routes through the countryside around Tegernsee, Spitzingsee and Schliersee, with on-route Brotzeit stations providing food and drink and a festival atmosphere at the start/finish area.
The Giro Bavarese weekend combines three marked route options (approximately 45 km, 65 km and 100 km) with market stalls, camping, family activities and evening events such as a bonfire and tastings on the Saturday. Tickets must be purchased online in advance and include a start slot for the chosen route, a start number, a route booklet, on-route catering, a goodie bag and a finish reward; there are also event extras such as a complimentary ride on the Ödberger Sommerrodelbahn. The organiser presents the event as a convivial celebration of vintage cycling and local Bavarian scenery rather than a timed competition.
