Folkestone 10k 2026 | Race for Life – Cancer Research UK is a charity 10 km road run taking place on The Leas in Folkestone, organised by Cancer Research UK as part of its national Race for Life programme. The event combines a supportive, non‑competitive atmosphere with fundraising for life‑saving cancer research, encouraging participants to set personal goals while contributing to the charity’s work. Entrants are aged 16 or over and the event offers fundraising support and resources to help reach the minimum sponsorship target. Registration information, pre‑race instructions and course details are provided by the organiser via email after sign‑up.
The route starts and finishes on grass on The Leas outside The Grand and features coastal sea views, a zig‑zag path and a stretch along the sea wall towards Sandgate before a steep return to the Leas. The race is chip‑timed so participants can track personal performance, though the emphasis is on fundraising rather than competition. Practical information such as roadside closures, blue badge parking in front of The Grand, refreshments and toilets are published on the event page to help plan arrival and travel. Participants are advised that the course is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs due to gradients and zig‑zag sections.
