About
With Fairfax County being one of the wealthiest counties in our nation, it's surprising to hear that there are a significant number of children who do not have enough food to eat on a regular basis. In 2019, 23,000 children experienced food insecurity (on free and reduced lunch program in Fairfax County). Now, because continued inflation that number has more than doubled, to 59,000 children on free and reduced meals. This means that 1 in every 4 kids in Fairfax County suffers from food insecurity.
The 5th Annual Feed Fairfax 5K on May 3rd, 2025 is a fun 3.1 mile road race through the Greenbriar neighborhood in Fairfax. The race is organized with community partners to raise money and provide food for kids in Fairfax County suffering from food insecurity.
What makes this race incredibly unique is that after the race, all participants and volunteers will have the opportunity to assemble Power Packs for elementary school children within our community.
