The Eibsee-Herbstlauf (Eibseelauf) is an established annual autumn run held on the last Sunday in October, here scheduled for 26 October 2026. The point-to-point course covers 12.2 km, climbing approximately 240 metres from the village of Grainau up to the Eibsee, and offers striking views of the Zugspitz-Nordwand. The route is noted for its scenic mountain landscape and a steady uphill character that makes the race a popular local challenge for recreational and competitive runners alike.
The event is organised by the Ski Department of Sportclub "Eibsee" Grainau e.V., a club with decades of history dating back to the race's foundation in 1981. Competitors and visitors are directed to the organiser's pages for registration, the course map, directions and results; the event materials also acknowledge local sponsors. The race's long tradition, straightforward single-race format and alpine setting are key attractions for participants and spectators.
Start in Grainau, finish at the Eibsee (Garmisch-Partenkirchen), Bavaria, Germany
