The Montgomery Bell State Park in Dickson, TN is our host for a unique "endurance" distance, (New!) Olympic Distance, and sprint triathlons. Custom shirts & socks for all participants. Unique awards to top 3 M & F finishers, top M & F Masters and 3 deep in 5 year age groups. All events are USA Triathlon sanctioned events.
The Endurance Distance is a 1 mile Swim Map, 38 Mile Bike Map and a 15k Run Map.
NEW this Year! Olympic Distance is a 1500m swim Map, 40k bike Map and 10k run Map.
IRON NUGGET DETAILS: SWIM - .5 mile - The swim takes place in Acorn Lake - meaning no current & no large swells. Wet suits will most likely be allowed. Map Link
BIKE - 17 miles - The bike is a flat to hilly bike course that is perfect for athletes of all abilities. Map link
RUN - 5 kilometers - The run is a challenging out and back course with 1 aid/water station. Map Link
Race start time is 8 AM Central Time - Arrive at site no later than 7:00 AM for ample time for parking, packet pickup and getting ready for event starting promptly at 8 AM. Late registration / packet pickup Friday from 5:30 - 7 PM & Saturday from 6:15 to 7:30 AM. Come to transition parking at Montgomery Bell State Park. Go to the red tent for packet pickup. Pre-race "walk through" will begin at 6 PM also with question & answer session.
Prices vary by event. For example, the Iron Nugget Sprint Triathlon - Individual is $111.30, and the Olympic Individual is $90.10. Price increases after February 28, 2025 at 11:59pm CST.
Packet pickup will be available on Friday from 5:30 - 7 PM and Saturday from 6:15 to 7:30 AM.
Participants should bring their registration confirmation, photo ID, and any necessary gear for the race.
Acorn Lake water temperature expected to be in lower 70's degrees by race day. USAT wetsuit legal water temp is 78 degrees or lower. An official reading will be taken race morning but more than likely it will be a wetsuit legal race.
Overall awards for the top three male and female finishers & top three male and female masters. Age group awards for first, second, and third place in the following M & F age groups: 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-55, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over & top 3 Clydesdale & Athena. Open Relay Division: Male, Female, and Co-ed.
Parking is available at Montgomery Bell State Park. Participants are encouraged to arrive early for ample time to park and prepare for the race.

Bald Eagle Events has a NO REFUND policy. Insurance is available during the registration of each event. If a Natural Disaster or Community Disaster occurs, decisions will be made based on safety first. There will be NO REFUNDS or free entries to future races.
