The Dark Forest Race (Treibjagd im Dunkelwald) is a four-day mountain‑bike stage race held in the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge), centred on TrailCenter Rabenberg in Breitenbrunn with an additional stage in Johanngeorgenstadt. The event runs from 23 to 26 July 2026 and presents a mix of forest singletrack, regional MTB terrain and evening time‑trial formats that change each day. It is offered both as a full multi‑day stage race and as the option to enter individual days, making it accessible for riders seeking either a full-stage experience or single-day competition.
Racing includes a short 5 km time trial plus stage options of 30 km or 60 km on the long routes. The race awards daily leader's jerseys and prize money for the top long-distance finishers; two of the stages form part of the MTB Sachsen Cup. The event promotes charitable support for Aktion Kinderherzen Erzgebirge during registration.
Stages start at multiple local venues including TrailCenter Rabenberg and the Loipenhaus in Johanngeorgenstadt, with terrain that combines established routes such as the KAMM-BIKE-CROSS and newer singletrack at the TrailCenter Rabenberg. Practical support for participants includes a starter pack and accommodation options around the Sportpark Rabenberg hub.
