The Brooks Ruhr Trail Run (4th edition) takes place on 13 September 2026 around Hengsteysee in Hagen and features scenic routes along the Ruhrklippen. The event combines lakeside views with hillside trail running and is presented as a festival-style race day with multiple distances to suit a broad range of abilities. Organisers emphasise accessible formats for newcomers and more demanding options for experienced trail runners, while keeping a strong focus on enjoyment of nature and community participation.
The programme on race day includes a flat Morning Street Run alongside the lake, the Discovery Trail (approximately 9 km with about 255 metres ascent) and the longer Hero Trail (approximately 17 km with about 510 metres ascent), plus a Young Talents Run for children. The event uses electronic timing via bib transponder, offers postal dispatch and personalised bib options within stated deadlines, and provides finisher medals and post-race provisions. Competitive prizes and age-group classifications are awarded, and a side programme creates an event atmosphere for participants and spectators alike.
