The Seafront, Pier Approach, Bournemouth, BH1 2EZ, United Kingdom
Bournemouth 5k 2026 is a community fundraising run organised under Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life banner, inviting participants to walk, jog or run along the seafront while raising money for life‑saving cancer research. The event is friendly and inclusive, open to individuals and groups aged 16 and over, and encourages all abilities to take part at their own pace. Entry supports Cancer Research UK’s research work and includes access to on‑site event facilities and fundraising support from the Race for Life team. The event page emphasises enjoyment, fundraising and community over competition.
The course starts and finishes at Pier Approach on Bournemouth Seafront and follows flat tarmac paths out towards Boscombe Pier before turning for the return, making it suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs with assistance. Spectators are encouraged and there are pre‑race warm‑ups, on‑site refreshments and a post‑race picnic in the park to celebrate together. Accessibility measures include toilets, refreshments and BSL stage content via QR code, plus Sunflower wristbands and guidance at the enquiries marquee. The event is intended as a relaxed, family‑friendly occasion with an emphasis on fundraising and community atmosphere.
