Steppi‑Kreisverkehr (main start/finish), Murrer Str. 2, Steinheim an der Murr; additional starts in Großbottwar and Gronau
The Bottwartal‑Marathon is a two‑day running festival centred on Steinheim an der Murr in Baden‑Württemberg, Germany, scheduled for 17–18 October 2026. The programme opens with a family‑focussed Run & Fun Day and continues with distances from 5 km up to a 52 km ultra, plus a relay marathon and a half marathon. Individual race pages and the Lauf‑Info provide course maps, GPX/PDF files and detailed route notes for each distance; registration for the 2026 edition opens mid‑March and is handled via the organiser’s pages (registration uses the Datasport platform with tiered early and late entry fees).
Logistics and race support are emphasised: shuttle buses to start points, aid stations on course (approximately every 5 km), integrated transponder timing in the race bibs (disposable transponders), on‑site secure bag drop, changing and shower facilities, and official race photography. Pacers are provided for the marathon (identified by target‑time flags) and the marathon operates with a 6‑hour time limit; assembly for the marathon is noted from 09:00 with a 09:30 start. Finisher medals are awarded for the longer distances (medallion engraving available at the finish for a fee). The event is open to adult marathon entrants (18+) and may offer late on‑site registration at a higher fee tier.
The course network includes a scenic marathon loop passing through towns such as Gronau, Beilstein, Oberstenfeld, Großbottwar and Kleinbottwar before returning to Steinheim; the organiser publishes maps and detailed route information on the official event pages. Local sponsors have included Kaufland, OptiMove, hotbytes and Süwag, and the Bottwartal Marathon is part of the regional Marathon Trilogie collaboration.
