Krumme Lanke, Berlin
The Berliner Volkstriathlon is a community-focused sprint triathlon held at Krumme Lanke in Berlin. The event (Berliner Volkstriathlon) is pitched at beginners and open participants, permitting non‑racing bikes and optional neoprene for the swim, and it explicitly allows entry from age 16 upward. The main course comprises a 0.7 km swim, an 18 km bike section and a 5 km run, and the organisers emphasise sustainable practice including a finisher T‑shirt made from 100% Fairtrade, GOTS‑certified cotton.
The race day includes on‑site bib pickup and a short pre‑race briefing from 06:00 with the mass start at 08:00; online registration for the 2026 edition opens in mid February on the organiser site. The event runs a children's programme (Volkstri4Kids) on the same day with age‑appropriate distances for school categories, and the organiser publishes a video briefing and a preparation checklist to help newcomers. The format and communications stress accessibility, community spirit and environmental responsibility as key features of the Berliner Volkstriathlon experience.
