Brandenburger Tor (Pariser Platz), 10117 Berlin, Germany
The Berliner Neujahrslauf is a relaxed, community New Years run organised under the SCC EVENTS banner that takes place in central Berlin. The event is explicitly non-competitive with no official timekeeping or prize ceremony, and participation is free; the organiser collects donations for UNICEF around the course. Runners and walkers can join spontaneously without prior registration, with the start and finish at the Brandenburger Tor (Pariser Platz) and a midday start time of 12:00.
The roughly four kilometre route runs from the Brandenburger Tor along Unter den Linden, in a large arc around the Berliner Dom, and back to the Brandenburger Tor on city streets. The course is suitable for a wide range of abilities and is intended as a festive, athletic start to the year for Berlins running community. Historically the event has attracted around 3,500 participants, offering a scenic city-centre experience for runners and walkers alike.
