About
BMW Berlin Marathon — a race that at first was organised by a group of runners from a running club is now part of Abbott World Marathon Majors and one of the world’s best and biggest running events, gathering athletes of the highest calibre on its course, who continue to break record after record.

But records aren’t the only thing broken as part of this marathon’s history. In September 1990, after the collapse of the Berlin Wall and three days before the reunification of Germany, the Berlin Marathon laid its course through the Brandenburg Gate and both parts of Berlin. Thus, this event was one of the first things that reunited Germany.

As you may come to expect from events of this size, every minute detail has been expertly organised. The course is near impeccable: it’s no wonder that the world’s fastest marathon time has been set 12 times at the Berlin Marathon. This includes the current record set by the legendary Eliud Kipchoge, one of the all-time superstars of the running world.

The appeal is obvious: being able to run alongside the titans of this sport and along the beautiful course with a long and meaningful history.
