Benin Charity Run

The Benin Benefiz-Lauf is a community charity running event organised by LLG Wustweiler e.V. in cooperation with AKTION PALCA and the Municipality of Illingen. Proceeds support relief projects in Benin via the AG Benin. The 19th edition is scheduled to take place at the Dorfwaldhalle Hirzweiler and brings together participants of all ages, from a 500 m Bambinilauf for the youngest runners up to a 10 km Hauptlauf. At the time of the announcement online registration had not been activated; on-site registration and payment are offered.

The course starts and finishes at the Dorfwaldhalle Hirzweiler (Leiwieserstraße, 66557 Illingen) and is described as a scenic, predominantly asphalted field-path route with panoramic views over the Illtal. The 5 km and 10 km courses are DLV‑measured. There is a village hall offering roast sausages, a large cake buffet and drinks for participants and spectators; the prize-giving and awards ceremony take place in the Dorfwaldhalle.

The programme is family-friendly with multiple distances (Bambinilauf 500 m, Schülerlauf 2 km, Jedermann-Lauf 5 km, Hauptlauf 10 km and a 5 km walking option). Timekeeping is provided for the timed races. The race forms part of the LLG Illtal‑Cup series; cup participants who complete all three races are entered into a prize draw (organiser note: past draws included prizes such as a hot‑air balloon flight for two).
