Bedrock Valley Trail Runs

The Bedrock Valley Trail Runs is a family-friendly trail experience around Diamond Valley Lake in Hemet, California. Choose from the Trail Marathon, Trail Half Marathon, 15K, 5K, Kid’s 1 Mile Fun Run, a Stroller-only 5K, a Marathon Relay, and the Gravel Rock Bike races. This is truly a historic run in an ancient place where Ice Age giants once roamed—the remains of hundreds of mastodons and other prehistoric creatures were discovered in the bedrock where the lake now rests.

Whether you're new to trail running, a seasoned veteran, or running with little ones or pushing strollers, there’s something for everyone—the event includes dedicated family-friendly and stroller events. The course offers flat, scenic loops as well as playful single-track sections and some small climbs for variety.

Course highlights:

• Trail Marathon: A great introduction to trail marathons with a relatively flat loop around the lake, finishing on scenic single track with small climbs—ideal for all levels.
• Trail Marathon Relay: Team up and split the marathon by running the Half Marathon course out-and-back, then tag your partner.
• Trail Half Marathon: A beautiful out-and-back along the lake bed—perfect for first-timers.
• 15K: A little of everything—flat, fast, climbing, and descending on the famous Wildflower single track.
• 5K: A quick, scenic run or hike with some up-and-down trail sections, finishing along the shoreline.
• Stroller Trail 5K: A dedicated, flat 3.1-mile out-and-back for runners with strollers.
• Kid’s 1 Mile Fun Run: Non-timed; open to children 10 and under. All kids receive a finisher’s medal and goodies.
• Gravel Rock Bike Races: Multiple distances around the lake. Ride gravel/mountain/e-bikes.
