Beacons Ultra, Marathon and Half 2026 brings three mixed‑terrain challenges to the Brecon Beacons, combining trails, mountain paths, canal towpaths and short road sections. Based out of Henderson Hall in Talybont-on-Usk, the event showcases rugged Welsh landscapes at a dramatic time of year. November conditions can range from bright sunshine to sub‑zero temperatures with rain and mist, rewarding well‑prepared runners with a memorable autumn mountain experience. The setting and variety of terrain create a distinctive blend of endurance, navigation awareness and scenic running.
The flagship Ultra covers roughly fifty miles across two loops of a classic circuit, with an out‑and‑back ascent of Pen y Fan on the first loop. The Beacons Trail Marathon offers a single loop of about twenty‑six miles and also visits Pen y Fan for a signature summit section. The Beacons Trail Half Marathon is around thirteen miles east of Talybont-on-Usk, taking in Tor y Foel and the Talybont reservoir on a compact but testing route. Elevation gains are approximately 2,258 m for the Ultra, 1,319 m for the Marathon and 543 m for the Half, underscoring the event’s challenging character.
