The Bärenkopplauf is a mountain and trail running event held on the WällerTour Bärenkopp in the Naturpark Rhein-Westerwald. The main race, titled Bärenkopplauf, covers 11 km with approximately +360 m / -260 m of elevation, presenting a demanding but scenic route for experienced trail runners. The organiser presents the race as an evening event with time-staggered block starts, creating a distinctive late-afternoon/early-evening atmosphere on the trail.
The programme also includes the Bärchenlauf, a set of children’s races for ages U6, U8, U10 and U12 that take place on the Klosterberg from 16:00. Registration for the 2026 edition is open via the event’s registration portal and the event website publishes post-race Listen with results and certificates. The event is organised by VfL Waldbreitbach and is marketed as the region’s signature Berg-/Traillauf on the WällerTour Bärenkopp.
