The ATOS Halbmarathon der TSG 78 Heidelberg is a single-day city running event organised by TSG 78 Heidelberg with title sponsorship from ATOS (ATOS Kliniken) and support from local partners including Henkel and Deutsches Gelenkzentrum (DGZ). The 2026 edition takes place on 26 April 2026 and brings together several races on the same day: the SAS Halbmarathon (21.1 km), the Henkel Team‑Lauf (3.1 km) and the HPK Dr. Natour / DGZ Bambini‑Lauf (1,200 m). Registration for the 2026 edition opens on 21 February 2026; entrants are directed to the official event website and race-specific pages for registration, maps, wave assignments, start lists and practical participant information.
The routed course runs through central Heidelberg with scenic sections along the Neckar, over the Alte Brücke and past Heidelberg Castle, with the start at Friedrich‑Ebert‑Anlage (access via Grabengasse/Plöck) and a festival finish on Universitätsplatz (Uniplatz). The event uses ChampionChip electronic timing (chip integrated in the bib); ChampionChip timing has been used at the event since 2008. Official lists are published as net times (Nettozeit) for category and team lists while overall winners are recognised on gross time (Bruttozeit). The half‑marathon starts in waves from 09:15 with a finish cut‑off at 15:30.
On‑site participant services include a VRN day ticket for public transport on race day, secure bag drop, aid stations, showers/changing facilities, finisher medals, professional photography and parking for visitors. Detailed start‑wave times, pricing, course maps and final race‑day instructions are published on the organiser's pages and the official event website closer to the race; participants should consult those pages for the latest updates.
