The Andover Half Marathon & 12km brings runners to a scenic, mixed-terrain course starting and finishing in the heart of Andover town centre. The route showcases sweeping countryside and views of three Iron Age hill forts while remaining largely paved, making it accessible yet rewarding. Participants benefit from accurate chip timing, way-marked routes, on-course marshals and checkpoint support to keep things smooth and safe throughout.
The Half Marathon covers 13.1 miles with approximately 229 m of climbing, while the 12km route is noted as a touch long at around 12.77 km with about 100 m gain. Generous cut-offs of 3 hours 30 minutes for the Half and 2 hours 30 minutes for the 12km allow a broad range of abilities to enjoy the day. Half Marathon runners will find aid stations on course, and all finishers earn a bespoke medal, with cash prizes for the first Male and Female and age-category recognition in the Half.
Centred around a town‑centre race village on Andover High Street, the event combines convenient access with a lively atmosphere for supporters. Sunday parking in town is free, and the straightforward logistics make it easy to arrive, race and celebrate. With professional timing and clear course marking, runners can focus on performance and scenery in equal measure.
