The Altra Yorkshire Marathon is a fast, city-centred marathon starting and finishing at the University of York and set against York's historic streets and surrounding countryside. The event is promoted as a flat, fast course with excellent on-course atmosphere and crowd support, making it a popular choice for runners targeting personal bests. The race weekend includes an Event Village with partner charities, pre- and post-race fuel options and a range of participant services designed for both competitors and spectators.
Run For All organises the event with comprehensive race-day provision including chip timing, aid stations with bottles and sports nutrition, baggage store facilities, pacers and official photography on course. Entrants receive a finisher medal and goody bag, and may purchase an optional finisher t-shirt; additional amenities include massage and a recovery area at the finish. The organiser provides travel and access guidance (park & ride, rail and shuttle services) and safety notes such as permitted bone‑conduction headphones so competitors can hear marshal instructions.
