The Altkönig-Lauf is a DLV‑approved community running event taking place at MTV Kronberg and is confirmed for Sunday 27 September 2026. The event (Altkönig‑Lauf) features a Halbmarathon (21.1 km) and a 10 km race, plus a 10 km Walking/Nordic Walking category and dedicated Schülerläufe and Bambinilauf for children. The half marathon is a designated scoring race for the Taunus‑Lauf Challenge series, linking this event with two other regional half marathons in September. Entrants may download GPX route files for both main distances and expect well‑marked forest trails at the foot of the Altkönig.
The event is staged from the MTV Sportanlage (Schülerwiesen 1) with on‑site facilities including showers, changing rooms and medical support provided by the DRK Kronberg, plus post‑race massage services. Online registration is handled via Maxx‑Timing with on‑site late entry possible up to 30 minutes before the respective start (late fee applies for most races). Course profiles note approximately 350 m of ascent on the half marathon and about 150 m on the 10 km, with multiple refreshment points and environmentally conscious requests for reusable cups. Prize money is awarded to the first three men and women in the main distances and certificates or age‑group awards are presented on site during the Lauffest.
