The AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run 2026 takes place on Sunday 3 May and features both a Half Marathon and a 10K, with a shared start at Centenary Square and a newly updated city-centre finish on Jennens Road into Aston Universitys festival-style finish village. The event is delivered under the Great Run Series branding and includes wave starts based on estimated finish times, chip timing and on-course support for participants. Entrants may register as charity fundraisers via the Great Run charity programme, with official event communications, an event guide and route maps published on the organisers site in the lead-up to the race.
The course is designed to showcase Birminghams landmarks including the Jewellery Quarter, St Pauls Square, Grand Central at New Street Station, Digbeth and Edgbaston, and the weekend also includes Junior & Mini events on Super Saturday (2 May). Runners receive a finishers T-shirt and medal and benefit from race chip timing, professional event photography available through the official app, and baggage facilities close to the start. The event emphasises a celebratory community atmosphere with a finish-village offering refreshments and post-race activities for participants and accompanying supporters.
