Get ready to conquer 1,980 steps at the Lake County Fairgrounds Grandstand, a tribute to the heroes of 9/11. Push your limits as you ascend and descend 120 stairs, 17 heart-pounding times. With each lap, drop a penny to mark your progress—17 in total. You'll carry the legacy of a fallen firefighter or police officer with their name in your heart and, if you choose, their picture in your hand. This stirring event not only honors their sacrifice but also benefits Crown Point D.A.R.E and helps equip emergency vehicles with life-saving portable defibrillators.
With a $25 entry fee ($15 for kids 3-12, under 3 free), participants receive a medal and the option to purchase commemorative shirts. Special discounts for Police, Firefighters, and EMTs. On the event day, the price is $30 for all, and the Finisher Medal is exclusive to pre-registered participants. The Statue of Liberty climb is also available at $20, with a Finisher Medal included.
