8th Bottrop Ultramarathon Festival (BUF)

The 8. Bottroper Ultralauf Festival (BUF) is a two‑day ultrarunning festival held in Bottrop, Germany, organised by Adler Langlauf Bottrop and scheduled for 29–30 August 2026. It combines time‑based events such as a 6‑hour and a 24‑hour run with a distinct Halden‑Backyard format, and offers both solo and relay (Staffel) entry options. The park circuit used for the time‑based events is an 837.7 metre DLV‑measured, illuminated lap with electronic timing and a public large‑screen display, providing controlled conditions for long‑distance efforts. The Halden‑Backyard follows a longer ~6.38 km loop with roughly 88 metres of ascent and enforces a one‑hour maximum per lap.

On‑site facilities include refreshments along the course, toilets, showers, designated tent areas and the possibility of free overnight accommodation in a nearby sports hall. Late on‑site registration is permitted with a surcharge and additional laps may be purchased during the event.
