The Monschau Marathon – run in nature is a weekend festival of running in the Eifel centred on Monschau-Konzen and organised by TV Konzen 1922 e.V. The event uses the slogan "Ein Marathon. Eine Region. Ein Miteinander.", emphasising community, regional character and a family-friendly atmosphere. The festival blends road and trail sections with passages through the historic old town of Monschau and varied forest paths to create a scenic but demanding course. Multiple formats are offered, including marathon, Genuss‑Marathon (Gourmet marathon), relay teams, ultramarathons and walking events, making the weekend suitable for competitive runners and recreational participants alike.
The weekend festival (07–09 August 2026) includes Friday fun-runs and sport exhibitors, a Saturday warm-up with an evening pasta gathering on the Dorfplatz, and Sunday’s showcase races. Specific race start times and registration windows are published on the official event pages and registration portal; consult the official Ausschreibung (race brochure) and registration pages for final rules, cut-offs and course details.
Sunday’s programme features the Marathon, Genuss‑Marathon (Gourmet marathon) and Staffel/relay marathon plus two ultras (K56 and K70). Ultra K70 is a DUV‑Cup scoring race. The routes include a mix of asphalt sections, forest tracks and scenic passages through villages, with demanding elevation profiles on some courses. On-site services include chip timing, bib issue, free parking, showers and changing facilities; aid stations and nutrition points are provided on longer distances. Finishers receive a medal and certificate; finisher shirts may be available prior to cut-off. Entries are made via the organiser’s registration portal and optional ticket insurance is offered during registration (except for the relay).
