The 3ème édition de l’Hannibal Rider is a long-distance randonnée organised by the Amicale Cyclo Pavillaise in Pavilly, Normandy. This non-competitive brevet is described by the organiser as a personal challenge rather than a race and follows the regulations of Les Randonneurs Mondiaux (LRM). The event covers approximately 2,500 km with major alpine passages and substantial cumulative ascent, and it starts in Pavilly on 11 July 2026. Riders are expected to be self-sufficient over long mountain sections and must follow the brevet rules published by the organiser.
Safety and tracking are emphasised for 2026: each entrant will be provided with an Owaka live-tracking beacon to validate passages and provide real-time location data. The route traverses the Jura and the Alps into the Piedmont (Italy) and returns to Pavilly, with around 50 cols including many high mountain passes and roughly 125 km of gravel sectors. Participation is strictly limited (organiser lists a cap) and entry is via the organiser’s registration link; fees and the official regulation document are published on the ACPavilly website. Recommended equipment includes a gravel or touring bicycle with disc brakes and tyres of at least 32 mm for high-mountain and gravel sections.
