The 38. Sassenberger Triathlon 2026 is a single-day triathlon event held in Sassenberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany and organised by VfL Sassenberg 1926 e.V., Abt. Triathlon. The race uses the Feldmarksee (Eurosee) for its open-water swim and features a rolling swim start with small start groups; bike and run courses form closed race circuits in the local countryside. Multiple distance options are offered on the same day, from Sprint up to Mitteldistanz, and timing/registration services are handled in cooperation with mika:timing under DTU/NRWTV rules. Participants should note DTU/NRWTV regulations apply, including helmet rules for cycling and public-traffic rules on the bike course.
The bike course is described as a largely flat and fast circuit run on public roads where the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) apply and drafting is prohibited, while the run follows mostly firm natural paths with aid stations providing water and cola. Transition areas are grass-based and located a short distance from the swim exit and the finish arena; access is restricted to competitors only. The event documentation emphasises athlete responsibility, required licences or day licences for some distances, and standard safety and data-protection arrangements. For up-to-date start windows, detailed course maps and final participant information competitors should consult the official event website and athlete information pages.
