Ratzeburger Marktplatz, 23909 Ratzeburg
The 35. Ratzeburger Adventslauf is a beloved first‑Advent tradition in northern Germany, bringing runners to the lakeside town of Ratzeburg for scenic routes around the Ratzeburger See and Küchensee. Participants can choose from a panoramic 26 km loop, a popular 7.5 km circuit, or a 1.5 km children’s and youth run, all supported by professional electronic timing. The event places community spirit at its core, with a warm atmosphere, enthusiastic local support, and a finish area set "Unter den Linden" for celebrations and awards.
Organisation is thorough and runner‑focused, with clearly communicated cut‑offs on the 26 km course and a defined finish closure to keep the day flowing smoothly. Start‑number collection and changing facilities are provided at the Pestalozzischule, while on‑course aid and extensive post‑race refreshments help participants recover well. Every finisher receives a gift, and photographers capture the day’s highlights, adding to the experience for both athletes and spectators.
