The International Triple Ultra Triathlon Lensahn is a renowned ultra-distance triathlon in northern Germany, staged each year around the last weekend in July. Athletes tackle three times the Ironman distance with a 11.4 km swim, 540 km bike and a 126.6 km run, delivered on highly controlled lap-based circuits. The swim takes place in the 50 m Freibad Lensahn outdoor pool, followed by cycling laps between Lensahn and Beschendorf and a multi-lap run course in Lensahn. The event is known for its intimate, focused atmosphere and precise lap counting that enables athletes and supporters to track progress closely.
Entry is reserved for highly experienced long-distance triathletes: participants must have completed at least one Ironman-distance race (or comparable) within the previous two years. Typically welcoming around 50 athletes annually, the race combines endurance, strategy and reliable logistics to support multi-day efforts. Results are published via the organiser’s timing partner, and the event provides official image galleries after the race. With a history dating back to 1992, Lensahn’s triple-distance challenge stands as one of the sport’s classic, community-rooted ultra triathlons.
