The 27. VVO Oberelbe-Marathon 2026 (OEM Oberelbe-Marathon) is a multi-distance running event held on 26 April 2026 that follows the Elbe corridor from Königstein in the Sächsische Schweiz to Dresden. The event portfolio includes a full marathon (42.195 km), a half marathon, 10 km and 5 km races, a 2.7 km Minimarathon and a 0.4 km Bambinilauf for children, with a shared finish in the Heinz‑Steyer‑Stadion. The marathon course is staged along the Elberadweg and passes notable landmarks such as Pirna, the Blaues Wunder and the Dresden Elbwiesen, emphasising scenic river and city views across a largely asphalt route. Official GPX, route maps, elevation profiles and multilingual Ausschreibung (including an English PDF) are provided on the event website.
The weekend features an event expo and spectator options including a marathon-accompanying steamship trip (Dampferfahrt) for accompanying persons, plus partner services and merchandise such as Puma x OEM finishers' shirts available to order during registration. The Minimarathon donates EUR 1 per entry to the Ambulanten Kinderhospizdienst Dresden and the Bambinilauf is free for children with participants receiving a medal and certificate. Organisers and contact points (Oberelbe‑Marathon e.V. and xperience sport & events) publish start lists, detailed start locations, cut‑off information and downloadable athlete guides on the official site and registration pages. For precise start venues by distance, start windows and entry fees consult the Streckenübersicht and the 2026 Ausschreibung PDFs linked from the official site.
