The 18. Brechener Straßenlauf am 21. März 2026 is a community road running event organised by LG Brechen featuring a programme for all ages, from a 0.5 km Bambini run to a Halbmarathon (HM). Multiple races take place on the same day with electronic timing provided by BR-timing and results published on the LG Brechen website, and the Emstalhalle serves as the race office and village for bib collection and prize ceremonies. The event emphasizes accessible, family-friendly racing including dedicated children's races and category-based awards for age groups and team classifications. Medical support is provided on-site by the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz and refreshments are available on course and in the race village.
The courses are described as fully asphalted and largely flat, with water and refreshment points at set kilometres on the 5 km, 10 km and half-marathon routes, making them suitable for fast times. Logistics include parking and changing/shower facilities at Emstalhalle and a clear schedule for bib pickup on the Friday before the race and on race day itself. The event also includes age-group prizes, team awards and record bonuses as stated in the official announcement, and participants consent to result publication and media use when registering.
