Prater Hauptallee (near Meiereistraße), 1020 Vienna
The 15. Tierschutzlauf (15th Animal Welfare Run) is a charitable running event organised by the Vegane Gesellschaft Österreich and scheduled for 4 October 2026. The event takes place on the Prater Hauptallee in Vienna and is promoted as a fast, AIMS‑measured course with pacemakers to help participants achieve target times. All net proceeds are donated to the campaigning work of the Vegane Gesellschaft Österreich, and the event is presented as family friendly with separate children’s races and a visible vegan identity.
Racing options on the day include a Bambinilauf (100 m), a Schüler:innenlauf (850 m), 5 km and 10 km main runs and a 5 km Nordic‑Walking category, with on‑site number pickup and late entries available in the days before and on race day. Participants receive a goodie bag and there are prize ceremonies for winners; course marshals are provided and organisers publish results and past results online. The Tierschutzlauf is part of the Wien läuft Cup and is supported by local partners and animal‑welfare organisations.
