The event titled "11 Stuwmerentocht" is a long-distance organised cycling ride originating and finishing at the Drielandenpunt in Vaals. It is offered in three distances — 140 km, 180 km and 210 km — with both gravel and road route options designed by Bram Tankink and routed through the Eifel and Ardennes. The route highlights 7 or 11 stuwmeren (reservoirs) and is navigated by GPX files rather than waymarking, providing a tour-style experience for riders who prefer self-supported endurance rides.
Participants receive GPX route files one week before the event and can expect three aid stations, medical support and a sweep vehicle along the course. Food and drink are provided as part of the entry package, including coffee and Limburgse vlaai at the start plus a hamburger and beer at the finish, and entry is limited so early registration is advised. The event is organised by Grenspalenklassieker BV and uses Komoot as its official route partner to present surface details and route stories.
