The 10. SÜDTHÜRINGENTRAIL 2026 brings trail runners to Suhl-Heinrichs in Thuringia for a celebrated anniversary edition based at the Gewerbepark SIMSON. Participants can choose from three signature routes through the Thüringer Wald: the 17.4 km Wichteltrail, the 47.5 km Riesentrail and the 64.9 km Heldentrail. Expect varied forest singletrack, sustained climbs and flowing descents, with considerable elevation gain that rewards strong legs and sound pacing. The event is open to runners aged 18 and over and delivers an energetic race-day atmosphere anchored by a compact start–finish area.
Safety and sustainability are key pillars, with mandatory live GPS tracking provided via a tracker or approved app, and a cupless policy that asks runners to carry a folding cup. Online entry runs from 01.01.2026 to 30.08.2026, with route-specific participant limits and no on-site late registration, encouraging early sign-up. Age-group podiums are awarded for places 1–3 across all routes, and full rules are set out in the organiser’s regulations.
